SEO Bird life - Ebro delta, Catalunya, NE Spain

The project will send three cohorts of two volunteers out to the Riet Vell project at the Ebro Delta, Catalonia, Eastern Spain, for 9-week placements at intervals during 2010.

• Cohort 1:
  Mon 5 April to Mon 7 June 2010 (2 places)
• Cohort 2:
  Mon 24 May to Mon 26 July 2010 (2 places)
  
• Cohort 3:
  Mon 13 Sep to Fri 15 Nov 2010 (2 places)

Seo/birdlife is a national Spanish organisation involved in conservation of bird species and habitat. Riet Vell is a sustainable development project of Seo/birdlife, it consists of two nature reserves, a company producing organic rice and a centre of research for the development and conservation of wetland areas. The site is in a rural location at the Ebro Delta in Eastern Spain.

Themes: Wetland management, water quality analysis, bird surveys (including assisting with mist-netting, bird ringing), assisting with public events, estate work, habitat management, scientific monitoring of the fauna, flora and physical parameters.
